I finally saw Twilight last weekend, having held off all the hype so far. But my sister hired it and made me watch it!! And unlike many other girls my age, I didn't fall hopelessly in love with Edward Cullen or want to be Bella. I actually didn't really like it! Even as the hopeless romantic I am, the 'I'm unconditionally in love with you and only just met you' thing between Edward and Bella just didn't cut it for me. And sorry to all you Robert Pattinson fans, but I just don't find him attractive!!

However, I saw Let the Right One In at the Adelaide Film Festival and thought it was AWESOME!!! That's what I call a vampire movie!

So my opinion is Let the Right One In all the way!!

I totally agree. During the film, I was completely engrossed, but at times I was still thinking in the back of my mind "come on, do something cool!".

After seeing the film, I was unable to stop thinking about it; the characters, the setting and the honest exploration of what it means to be a vampire. Oh and that amazing cat scene!
It was better than Twilight on every single level, including its romance.

I went with a lady friend of mine to see Twilight, specifically to get a female Twilight fan perspective. We both came out thinking Twilight was just plain dull. We did appreciate that Bella seemed to be more independent and not as needy as in the books, but that only improved the film a little.

On the other hand, Let the Right One In is one of the best films I've rented in recent memory. My instant reaction was that it too was a bit dull, but within an hour of marinating on it, the depth of character and story had me doing metaphorical backflips over its awesomeness.

Haha, great pun! It makes sense that you don't find Twilight that intriguing because you're a guy (although that doesn't mean others can't get into it), but I don't think it was that badly shot – and it does have good things going for it. Let the Right One In is more chilling though, for sure – and it has a cult following, which the Twilight books originally had (here in Australia at least) before the whole franchise became too commercialised. It's a shame really!

It's not even a question, Let the Right one in will suck the blood out of Twilight any day of the week. Better and more intriguing story and better shot as well.
