It seems to be all work and no play at Moviedex. Not that it’s a huge chore to watch and review films (unless it’s Babylon A.D), but i think it’s time we mixed things up a bit. So I’m introducing a new weekly game, inspired by the concept of Fletch’s Stained Glass Cinema over at Blog Cabins,  called In Shreds.

Each week the shredder at Cut, Print, Review is force fed three film posters. First person to identify ALL three films shredded is the winner*! For a bonus point, also identify what the three films have in common. Leave your answers as a comment!

For week #1, let’s start off relatively easy….

    Okay, I can see two of them “Head of State” and “The Fifth Element” but I can’t even see the third…Great feature – much easier than Stained Glass!

    I like it – I like it a lot. Though, damned if I can’t get that third one, either. I’d say what my thoughts are, but a) they ain’t right, and b) I don’t want to give anyone else ideas.

    Nice work with the first two!
    Although, the third one was aiming to be the tricky one!

    I’m sure though if you can work out a link between the two you already have, then the third one might just slap you in the face.

    I believe it’s Head of State, The Fifth Element, and Deep Impact…the connection being that all three feature an African-American president of the U.S. (Insert obligatory reference to Obama’s likely victory here.) :)

    @Luke Harrington
    Spot on the money Luke!!
    It is indeed Head of the State, The Fifth Element and Deep Impact…all of which feature an African American US President.

    Two points right there!

    Now, i’ll have to see what i can shred together for next week….

    Damnit. So much for assumptions. All I could think of was Armageddon, as I knew, just KNEW, that the Deep Impact poster was blues and blacks and not so much reds and oranges. Of course, I was thinking about this poster (http://www.impawards.com/1998/posters/deep_impact_ver1.jpg) and not the one you chose. Stupid me.

    Haha! Yes, it’s always going to be difficult when there are about 5 different posters for each film. A tleast you were on the right track…when it comes to stained glass cinema, I never have the faintest. I WILL get on that scoreboard though! One day…
